The Challenge Accelerator was modelled on the Industrial Strategy Challenge Funds’ Innovation lab process of bringing together research and business to drive innovation aimed at tackling the major challenges of our time. The Hackathon, 1 – 3 February, launched the Challenge Accelerator, brought together a diverse range of individuals, early career researchers, institutions, sectors and subject disciplines to produce new ideas and innovations. 11 of the 16 teams formed during the hackathon were selected to participate in the six month accelerator programme.
